The entire series of group IIIb elements (the actinide series), including actinium, thorium, protactinium, uranium, neptunium, plutonium, americium, curium, berkelium, californium, einsteinium, fermium, mendelevium, nobelium and lawrencium. Uranium through lawrencium are grouped together to form the transuranium elements. Radioactives are valued for all manner of industrial applications and as the basis for some energy sources.
