Shaker CIDS are close-in defensive systems that utilize inverse tractor beam technology to exert a violent series of 'pushes' against incoming enemy ordinance, either deflecting it off course or smashing sensitive electronics gear out right. Sometimes the shock detonates a warhead or fuel supply. Shaker CIDS gives off light green bursts of energy when fired, making for an impressive and often beautiful display during major fleet engagements. They are considered superior to the old Repulsor CIDS technology in the sense that they could conceivably be researched to a higher top end. This would, however, take a long time to achieve.
